Extracts:

"As for humour : the light touch which is the mark of modesty appears here and there in Philibert´s compositions. It reminds me of Saba´s words, inspired by Svevo,´I have always regarded humour as the supreme from of generosity.´" Gérard Macé

"He mainly uses paper, or rather papers, of all shapes and types. He collects them and treasures them just as painters keep their brushes. Who would ask an artist which pigments or turpentine he uses? And who cares anyway? The scholary titles he gives to his work, often mysterious or palindromic as they are, reveal an anxiety that pervades our times." Alain Coudert, Art Actualités-1996

"Philibert-Charrin can proudly add his name to those of Picasso, Braque and Matisse. He, too is a silent champion of collages in this vociferous world of ours." Gérard Tavera FR3-1988

"Philibert-Charrin trespasses the simple condition of a landscape painter. He is an inventor of shapes and manners, a seeker endowed with a capacity to find." René Déroudille

"...and then there is Philibert-Charrin whose poetry positively enthralled me. One of his paintings entitled "Silent life" brilliantly summarises this beautiful exhibition." Jean Louis Gautier, (Seven Paris Painters)

"...Bolin, the painter, showed me some recent and extremely well-structured painting-collages by an artist whose name I hardly knew, Philibert-Charrin, and said: ´Believe me, this is a genuine painter.´" René Barotte, Paris Presse

"Philibert-Charrin derives his inspiration from fresh and cool sources...seldom is drawing as simple as it is here. Is this not the very sign of a rich inner life?" Gaston Diehl

"...these paintings which give evidence of his constant evolution and reveal his endearing personality could somehow be Shubertian lieder visualised." Docteur Paul Ramain      Same Works :
